On behalf of the McAuliffe Board of Trustees, Board Chair, Bob Berman shared “I am very excited to have Frank Tipton join the school as our new Executive Director. We are confident that his experiences and passion for learning will help guide the school into an exciting future.”
Since 2015, Frank has served as Assistant Head of School for Gann Academy, a Waltham-based, independent high school serving 270 students. Prior to Gann, Frank held several administrative and teaching roles at Phillips Andover Academy for ten years, preceded by teaching and counseling roles at The Seven Hills School in Cincinnati, OH and with the Wellesley Public Schools.
Frank notes that he is “very excited to join the McAuliffe community. Throughout my time at Gann and Phillips Andover, I have expanded each school’s commitment to project-based and experiential learning, and I look forward to bringing my interest in the EL model and my skills as an administrator to one of the few credentialed EL schools in the country.” After more than ten years of exceptional school leadership, Kristin Harrison, who will step down once Frank is onboard, states that she “is thrilled with Frank’s hire. I am confident he will be a wonderful leader for McAuliffe, and I am ready to assist Frank in any way I can to make the transition as smooth as possible.”
Please join us in welcoming Frank to McAuliffe, and, as always, thank you for your continued commitment to the school, especially during these very challenging times.
Berman expressed his gratitude for McAuliffe’s outgoing Executive Director by saying- “I want to offer a very special thank you to our current Executive Director, Kristin Harrison, who has led the school for nearly 10 years. Her leadership, guidance and love for our community has had a major positive effect on thousands of scholars. Kristin’s work will leave an impact on the school and those she touched for decades to come.”
