An important part of our scholars’ learning involves community involvement. Our 7th grade scholars are investigating and evaluating current discipline practices at McAuliffe as well as the recently enacted state discipline law.
On Tuesday, March 8th scholars will host roundtable sessions discussing discipline practices and restorative justice at 6:30pm and again at 7:30pm. During these discussions, small groups of scholars will share with a small (7-10) group of guests what they have learned about restorative practices. Students will facilitate roundtable discussions to hear and explore thoughts, opinions, reactions, and ideas from participants.
Input from these discussions will be used by scholars to generate a set of recommendations that they will present to McAuliffe School leaders.
This event is a mandatory event for 7th grade scholars and families, but all McAuliffe community members are welcome and encouraged to participate.
