Mr. Miles joined the McAuliffe team in 2025. Mr. Miles is inspired by the opportunity to support students’ growth through both academic learning and community connection. With a background in teaching middle school Social Studies and English Language Arts, as well as leading enrichment programs in sports, arts, and service, he values creating environments where every student feels seen and supported. He is especially drawn to McAuliffe’s EL model, and its emphasis on experiential learning, collaboration, and character development. Mr. Miles believes education should empower students not only to meet academic goals but also to grow as thoughtful, compassionate leaders. He is excited to be part of a school community that embraces curiosity, inclusivity, and a spirit of adventure in learning.

Ms. Baerg joined the McAuliffe team in 2025. Ms. Baerg is grateful to be working in the same neighborhood where her own children go to school, making her connection to the community especially meaningful. She is inspired by the strong sense of belonging at McAuliffe and the way students, families, and staff support one another. Ms. Baerg believes in creating a classroom where curiosity, respect, and perseverance guide learning. What she enjoys most about the community is seeing students grow not only academically, but also as kind and confident individuals. She is motivated by EL education’s emphasis on hands-on learning, collaboration, and real-world connections that make school meaningful.

Mr. Heinlein joined the McAuliffe team in 2021. Mr. Heinlein joined the McAuliffe community from a legal background with the ambition to help students find success through middle school and beyond. He is inspired by the growth that McAuliffe students exhibit throughout the year, reflecting how much they’re learning both academically and socially.

Mr. K joined the McAuliffe staff in 2025. Mr.K has recently made some big life moves that have brought him to our community. Mr. K was raised in Massachusetts but needed change after college. Mr. K took a little 20 year adventure to Florida, home of Mickey Mouse and worked as a middle school teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. In 2023, he came back to his roots and was ready for a challenge and ready to “defy gravity” and go back to where it all started, classroom teacher. Mr. K loves history and the story that it tells and hopes that his student can find the love and passion of learning through various methods and learning styles to meet the goal of learning.

Ms. Harriott, an Educator, is always seeking ways to grow and develop professionally and personally and Christa McAuliffe Charter School seems like the best place to help her get to the level of growth she seeks. Mr. Savas joined McAuliffe in 2017. Teaching has been a Mr. Savas’s passion, even before he joined the McAuliffe community. Mr. Savas enjoys guiding students in a year of adventure, discovery, challenges, and triumphs as they learn to lead their learning and growth. When he first started here, Mr. Savas noticed how McAuliffe students and staff members got excited and engaged in lessons and activities, and he wanted to be part of that. In his 8 years at McAuliffe (7 years teaching Humanities), he has enjoyed working with students and seeing their “aha” moments. Mr. Savas hopes that each of his students leaves McAuliffe not only with good academic skills but with a desire to be part of making our community better.

Ms. Gordon joined the McAuliffe Staff in 2025. Ms. Gordon was drawn to McAuliffe’s welcoming environment and commitment to academic excellence. She has a strong appreciation for the EL model, particularly the Habits of Character component. Ms. Gordon believes every student has a unique voice and is deeply committed to supporting each of them. She is very excited to be a part of the team!

Mrs. Rish joined the McAuliffe team in 2017. Mrs. Rish first came to McAuliffe as a parent; two of her four children are McAuliffe alumni. When the opportunity was available, Mrs. Rish joined the staff as the ELE (English Learner Education) coordinator and teacher. She is passionate about the English language, writing, and helping students live up to their full potential. Mrs. Rish believes that the HOWLs and building a kind and empathetic community are the keys to student success.

Ms. Ortiz joined the McAuliffe staff in 2022. Ms. Ortiz was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Went to Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood. She worked as a Third grade Spanish teacher at a Bilingual school for a year then, along with her family, decided, to move to the United States in 2008. Ms. Ortiz worked at Framingham High School for 8 years before coming to McAuliffe. Ms. Ortiz knew a colleague here at McAuliffe who explained the EL way of learning and she was fascinated with it and decided to give it a try and loved it.

Miss. Smith joined the McAuliffe team in 2019. Miss Smith believes that McAuliffe is a place that is dedicated to helping all students become thoughtful and innovative citizens. Expeditionary Learning is designed to help students think deeply about complex topics and push themselves to do more than they thought possible. Miss Smith loves working with McAuliffe students and especially enjoys being able to teach all three grades every year. She really enjoys teaching technology, but also helping teachers to integrate technology in their classrooms.

Mr. Ashby arrived at McAuliffe after 22 years of teaching art at the middle school level. What attracted Mr. Ashby to McAuliffe was the aspect of EL learning and how his role as a specialist, the design teacher, will be utilized within the larger context of the academic environment. Art is simply a vehicle for Mr. Ashby to engage in learning. It is his springboard if you will. Mr. Ashby hopes that his passion for art will inspire his students to search out how their passion in life can be leveraged for success in all their current and future learning endeavors.

Mrs. Bogue joined the McAuliffe team in 2010. In 2004, Mrs. Bogue set out to find the best middle school in Framingham for her four children. When she toured McAuliffe, she knew she had found it. The students AND the teachers she met were excited about learning. They were honest about what was challenging. They were also confident that their “crew” would support them. They spoke about their values as much as they did about the work they were doing. Nearly twenty years later, Mrs. Bogue is still in love with the crew, the learning, and the values that are McAuliffe.

He believes that Experiential Learning is makes a key difference in the development of young students, and that the educational should be an adventure.

Mr. Bailey joined the McAuliffe staff in 2024. At Christa McAuliffe Charter School, the community thrives on collaboration, inclusivity, and a dedication to fostering growth in every student. Mr. Bailey’s teaching philosophy aligns with these values by helping students become physically literate individuals who understand and appreciate the importance of lifelong physical fitness. Mr. Snyder joined the McAuliffe team in 2017. Mr. Snyder applied to McAuliffe six years ago because he wanted to join a student and community centered school. He continues to come back every year, in a variety of roles, because the McAuliffe community; students, co-workers and families are amazing! He hopes to retire here and teach McAuliffe scholars for years to come!

Sra. De La Rosa joined the McAuliffe staff in 2025. Hola! This school year, families can expect a strong commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive classroom where every student feels valued. As a native Spanish Speaker I use authentic resources, my lessons will be engaging and fun, filled with songs, games, stories, and real-world connections. Clear expectations and routines will guide students as they grow in responsibility and confidence. Communication with families will remain open so everyone feels informed and connected to our learning journey.
Patience and encouragement will support all learners, from beginners to those with more experience. A key goal is not only to teach a language but also to nurture empathy for different cultures and perspectives.
Above all, the classroom will be filled with excitement and joy for learning together this new school year!

Ms. Nehme joined the McAuliffe Staff in 2024. Ms. Nehme loves being part of the McAuliffe community because it’s a place where both students and teachers can really shine. The hands-on, active learning approach here makes learning exciting and meaningful, and seeing students take charge of their education is truly inspiring. The supportive, creative environment at McAuliffe is what makes it so special—everyone is encouraged to be themselves while working together. That mix of independence and teamwork is what keeps me excited to be here every day!
