Now Scheduling April 2021Student Led Conferences (SLCs)!
Where many schools host parent-teacher conferences, EL Education schools, like McAuliffe, guide scholars to facilitate Student-Led Conferences — commonly referred to as SLCs. SLCs are an important (and mandatory!) part of our program because they encourage scholars to be leaders of their own learning. Scholars reflect on their academic targets and Habits of Work and Learning (HOWLs), celebrate successes, and identify goals for growth.
We will be holding SLC’s for 6th and 7th grade scholars this April while our 8th grade scholars prepare for their Passage presentations. A Passage presentation is a capstone experience in which students make a case that they are ready for high school, using evidence from the entirety of their McAuliffe career. Passages presentations are typically celebrations of students’ learning and growth.
